12 Tags of Christmas #5 – Funkie Junkie Style

I’m back with tag #5 for Linda’s Funkie Junkie Christmas Tag Challenge of 2017! The challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and there’s still time for you to join in on the challenge. You can find the rules on Linda’s blog . Linda’s week #5 tag inspired me to focus on Santa Claus, wood, and the new postage stamps from Tim Holtz. So, that was a lot of stuff to fit on a tag. I was trying to figure out a cute way to use the Tim Holtz wood slices but was not having a lot of success – I know...

12 Tags of Christmas #4 – Funkie Junkie Style

I’m back with Tag #4 from Linda’s 12 Tags of Christmas . The challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique . For this tag, I swung a bit toward tartan. I was inspired by Linda’s tag to use a silhouette and the idea of going to a concert, the theatre, or a show. Initially, when I die cut the image from Tim Holtz Sizzix Dapper die, I wanted the outline to be in the tartan paper from the Christmas Paper Stash. And then it just sat on my craft room table. I just was not working for me. So, I left...

12 Tags of 2017 – Funkie Junkie Style (Week #3)

Phew – what a weekend! I managed to spend some time in my craft room trying to get things organized (I’m still dealing with the leftovers of the move…). This weekend I wound up with an “extra hour” to do stuff and I managed to bake a pie (apple and cranberry with from-scratch pastry), make a pumpkin-pecan quick bread, go for a long run, and a tag! Okay, so that was a bit more than a hour but the extra hour helped. Tag #3 for Linda’s 12 Tags of Christmas 2017 involved a whole lot of two colors – red...

Christmas Tag #2 – Funkie Junkie Style

Today was a rather windy day here so I stayed inside and worked on the second tag for Linda’s Funkie Junkie Christmas Tag Challenge . While I’m four, soon to be five, tags behind Linda graciously lets us submit tags until the whole challenge closes. You can find all of the rules for the challenge on Linda’s Blog. So hopefully I will be able to get caught up! The challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique . This second tag by Linda was very creamy and had a lot of vintage character to it...

Christmas Tag #1 – Funkie Junkie Style

Hello! Okay, so I’m about six weeks behind on Linda’s Christmas Tag challenge. Nothing like starting halfway through – right? I decided that I needed to get my Christmas hat on and get into gear for the holidays. While I love Thanksgiving, I know that in order to be ready for Christmas I need to get moving! So last night I came home, went for a run with the pup, and then straight to my craft room while my beloved was making dinner. As he called me to dinner, I was just finishing up my first tag for...

To Everything There Is A Season - Frilly & Funkie Challenge

Happy Autumn! We suddenly ended summer and drifted quickly into Autumn around here. We've had a bit of a drop in temperatures last weekend, a beautiful-bordering-on-late-summer week, and then this weekend we had another drop in temperatures. It was cool enough that the heater kicked on for a little bit. The past couple of days have seen the trees quickly start their autumn shades and once the clouds clear we might just see a bit of snow on the mountains! I love Autumn - the house gets decorated with...

A Little Rusty – Frilly & Funkie Challenge

Hello! I hope that everyone has started to ease into autumn. The trees are already starting to turn here and while it is a slow turn of color on a branch here and there, I’m ready for autumn’s cooler nights and crisper days. Autumn is my favorite time of year – the deep, rich colors; the beginning of regular baking going on in the kitchen; and decorating the house. There is always something about the comforting smell of an apple pie in the oven and the first set of cranberries arriving! I am very...
