Out of the Cold

Hello Dear Friends – It was a beautiful day here and due to the President’s Day holiday I was able to work from home. I did take a little bit of time to play in my craft room as well. I had the window open, the sun was shining in, and it made me yearn for the warmer, longer days of summer. Although it has been unusually warm over the past couple of weeks I know that we’re not quite done with winter! A much needed bit of snow is in the forecast by the end of the week so maybe, just maybe March will...

Be My Valentine

Hello! I apologize for having been a bit absent over the past couple of weeks. Work and other projects have made by craft room seem a bit out of reach. However, today was a cruddy weather day and a day to play in my craft room but I had one of those days were I started a million projects and not finding the spark in any of them. So, I walked out and curled up with the kittens and watched a movie. And, then … I created this project. The Frilly & Funkie challenge blog’s current challenge is Be...

Winter Hues & A Book of Months (February)

Hello! Winter, oh winter, where art thou? While the mountains have been getting a rather good bit of snow (great for the skiers) not much here in the foothills. The current challenge on the Frilly & Funkie blog asks us to create a project using Winter Hues – specifically use grey, white, blue, silver in our project. The challenge in generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique . I also decided to combine this project with my own personal Book of Months project ( January’s project can be...

New Year’s Inspiration & Be Square

The first challenge project of the year is a bit of inspiration in a square and fits two challenges – New Year’s Inspiration for the Frilly & Funkie Challenge which is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and Be Square for the Monday Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp . As the New Year approached, I looked ahead to what my year would bring for me and also what I wanted to do for the year. In my non-art world it will be a tough, busy year and I promised...

A Book of Months – 2017 (January)

Happy New Year! It’s time for a new year and I’ve decided to try to do an art challenge in place of the Tim Holtz 12 tags challenge. It was unfortunate news yesterday when we got word that Tim Holtz will be changing gears and seeking new ways to challenge, inspire, and teach us new techniques. While I’m excited to see what’s in store from him, I was bummed to see the 12 Tags Challenge be retired. So I’ve placed a challenge on myself (maybe some of you will join me in that challenge….) that I will...

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 – Tech Remix (December)

Merry Christmas! We woke to a lovely Christmas morning. We even got a dusting of snow overnight for a white Christmas! The clouds are moving out so we won’t get any more snow but it is incredibly windy but will make for a good day to stay inside and spend a lovely day with my beloved and our kittens. Soon the kitchen will be smelling divine as Christmas dinner will be put in the oven. This tag is the last of the Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2016 – Tech Remix . It was a New Year’s resolution to complete the...

12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie Style (Week #12)

Here is the final tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie style! I started it very early this morning as the snow was falling and while we didn’t get much snow out of this storm it’s making for a very, very chilly day! The 12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie style challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and you can find all of the rules and inspirational tags on Linda’s blog . Linda’s 12th tag was a pocket tag so I was inspired to make a pocket. In my case, the pocket of Santa...

12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie Style (Week #11)

After a long week at work, I came home waiting for the “storm” that’s supposed to move in and give us some snow. I’m still hoping for a white Christmas but it’s really unlikely. So after I brushed out the knots in my hair created by the wind when I went for a walk at lunch, I headed to my craft room to work on the week 11 tag for the 12 tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie st yle. The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique . Technically there is still time to join in on the fun...

12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie Style (Week #10)

Just a quick post to introduce my Week 10 tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie Style . I get that I’m running a bit behind and I’m trying to get caught up as the deadline is fast approaching! The 12 tags of Christmas challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and while there is still time to join in you better get moving! The rules can be found on Linda’s blog . Week 10’s tag inspired me to use chalk and snowflakes. Out came my Frosted Crystal embossing powder and chalk. I grabbed...

Home for the Holidays

Well, I did it. One of my New Year’s resolutions for this year was to participate in each of the Frilly & Funkie challenges . I managed each one of them – sometimes with awesome results and sometimes with some not-so-awesome results. Over the year though I have picked up new techniques, pushed my boundaries a bit, and enjoyed every minute of it. The last project for the year on the Frilly and Funkie blog is a Home for the Holidays challenge and the challenge is generously sponsored and supported...
