I worked on the 12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie Style too! I’m a little bit behind but as long as I get them done by the end of the challenge it’s all good. The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique . You can find all of the rules and requirements on Linda’s blog. Today’s...

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 – Tech Remix (November)

Hello! As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend our house smells of apple pie! I’ve been baking and making pastry for the last couple of days. I have a couple more pies to make for family friends and one for my beloved and then I turn the kitchen over to him so he can start making the savory dishes. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. In between lugging my boxes of Christmas ornaments and storage containers with garland from the basement to their temporary placement in our living room, I...

Despite finishing my tag for Week #6 , it also means I don’t have a lot of time to get my Christmas shopping done either… This week I was inspired by Linda’s tag to use Kraft, use texture paste, and try to stay a little monochromatic. I don’t normally...

Over a Hundred Years in the Making – The Frilly & Funkie Challenge

The current challenge on the Frilly and Funkie Blog is What a Mesh . The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique . When I first saw the challenge I wondered what the heck I was going to do. I kept thinking of different things and then I veered off toward baseball. I’m not a huge baseball fan – it’s all a bit too slow paced for me. I did spent hours playing catch with my dad as a kid and all that practice means I’ve got a pretty darn good baseball pitch. I know just enough...

An Autumn View

Hello! Autumn has finally arrived here – we think! Traditionally Halloween is cold and the weather is a bit dicey but this year it was warm and windy. However, the wind brought in a cold front and so we may actually start having days that are not in the high 70’s. Over this past weekend I treated myself to an art weekend with some friends. We had a lovely park-like setting where we were, wonderful food, great weather, and lots of fun. We were visited by deer, wild turkeys, and big horn sheep throughout...

A Very Vintage Halloween – Toxique Mail

Oh the trees are frightfully bare! My gardens are all cleaned out, the dirt turned over ready for spring, and the containers all packed away in the garage. The only thing left outside that’s green is the lawn but even that will soon lose its color as we head into the deep autumn despite still enjoying 70 degree days. As October comes to a close and after I manage to get in some extra calorie burning by raking up all of the leaves from the neighbors’ trees, I pulled together one more Halloween project...

12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie Style (Week #3)

’Tis the season for colds – nothing like an autumn cold to start it all off right? And, I worked on Week #3 of the 12 Tags of Christmas – Funkie Junkie style. The challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique . Linda’s blog has all of the rules and there is still time to join in the challenge! Linda’s tag for this week reminded me of the...

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2016 – Tech Remix (October)

Happy October! The leaves here have all turned yellow and red. The height of the aspen changing is finished and the furnace has started to come on when we get those cooler mornings. As we head toward Halloween, the tag for this month’s Tim Holtz Tech Remix Challenge involves using the Distress Collage Medium (Crazing) and the Sizzix Mask Thinlits. I really liked working with the crazing collage medium – its texture and effect are pretty fun to work with especially with the Distress Crayons. I chose...
