Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 – The Remix – March, 2016

Well, I’m closing in on my first year of papercrafting! I’m at month 11 and this is my 11 th Tim Holtz tag! More on my journey into the papercrafting world soon! Since I’m still rather new at all of these techniques, the remix is a great way for me to learn new things or work on the techniques I’ve learned in the past 11 months and try to make it better than the last time (or first time) I tried the technique. This month’s tag with Tim was a combination of both a redo technique and a new technique...

Food and/or Drink Challenge with Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

After several wintry days (one of which involved a normal 20 minute drive home from work turning into a 2+ hour driving extravaganza in blizzard conditions), Easter Sunday was a bright, beautiful, blue sky day. It was warm enough and sunny enough to melt the snow off the branches of the bushes and trees that started to show the early signs of spring. As I peeked out into my garden late this morning, I notice my rhubarb poking up out of the snow. My garden beds are starting to show signs of being...

3 Trios of Flowers for the Frilly & Funkie Challenge

The latest challenge at the Frilly & Funkie Blog was asking us to “let’s make a trio.” The challenge is graciously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique . For some reason I’m a week off and this morning I realized that the tag for this challenge was due tonight! Over lunch I thought about doing something involved a vintage hat or brooch. That, however, morphed into this tag. Not a hat but some lovely triplicates of felt flowers and some other bits and pieces I found in the jar on my craft table...

Simon Says Stamp – Monday Challenge: Use Some Lucky Stars

Where I grew up the night sky was a wonder. I live far enough from the city that the night sky was full of stars. It was beautiful. It was dark too. I hated it when my dad would forget to pick up the newspaper or the mail and I would have to run down the driveway to get it and run back hoping that the coyotes yelping in the distance weren’t coming to get me! Once safely at home I would sit on the step and just look up and see if I could make out the constellations or sometimes create my own. And...

Simon Says Stamp – Make Your Own Background

This week’s challenge on Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge involved Making Your Own Background . I love creating backgrounds for my projects but many times I then look at a lovely background then think “now what?” The challenge this week featured Darkroom Door stamps of which I didn’t have any. I previously read a blog post about the stamps and was intrigued by the images in their lineup but had not yet had the chance to start acquiring them. As many of you probably do – it’s all about budgeting...

A layered leap into the unknown

I was feeling rather productive this weekend. I worked on some scrapbook pages (I have a forty page spread that is nearing completion…finally), the daffodil tag, and finding places for all of the new stuff that has been arriving each day! Out of all of that I found some time to try a new technique – paper mosaic. I purchased the Tim Holtz kit when it came out and I put it with all of my other texture stuff. The brand new box right on the edge of the shelf next to texture paste, crackle paint, embossing...

Daffodils and Shamrocks for a Challenge!

Spring is springing early here in our neck of the woods. It’s very rare that the end of February brings us the first crocus peeping up out of the ground. We saw that last weekend when we were out for a walk. And, this week our neighbor’s daffodils were blooming. Daffodils are one of my favorite springtime flowers and in March and April they are everywhere in England. So this week’s tag focused on green as there is the arrival of Spring and on March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. I am submitting this...
