After a long week at work, I came home waiting for the “storm” that’s supposed to move in and give us some snow. I’m still hoping for a white Christmas but it’s really unlikely. So after I brushed out the knots in my hair created by the wind when I went for a walk at lunch, I headed to my craft room to work on the week 11 tag for the 12 tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie style. The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique. Technically there is still time to join in on the fun of the challenge but time is short! You can find all of the rules on Linda’s blog.
I was inspired by Linda’s tag to use the red polka-dot paper (and that to use both sides of the paper) from the Tim Holtz Tidings Mini Paper Stash, the doily, and the embossed snowflakes. I decided that I wanted to have my embossed snowflakes on the woodgrain paper in the paper stash. It was a bit of trial and error to get the right color so that the snowflakes were visible and yet not become the focal point. Once I got it right, I lightly roughed up the edges of the woodgrain paper. Next came my poinsettia, doily, twine bow, greenery, and word band.
So, week 11 done… off to work on week 12!! I’m almost there. Too bad my Christmas shopping isn’t that close to being done.

17-Dec-16 1:34 PMI really like this one! The woodgrain paper is wonderful and the snowflakes are perfect. Love your multi-patterned poinsettia too. Another wonderful tag and another step closer to the finish line! Can't wait to see the finale:)
