Happy Halloween to everyone! Even though it’s the end of October, I’ve already picked out the ribbons for my Christmas garlands and I’m planning the colors for my tree. This week I worked on my latest Funkie Junkie style tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas. The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique. There is still time for you to enter the challenge! I’m trying not to get behind and after I finished this tag, I pulled out stuff for week #5’s tag! But I got a bit behind for a reason…
I was inspired by Linda’s tag to find a different type of material to create a poinsettia. After thinking about it for a bit I chose felt. I ordered some beautiful set of green felt colors, a series of red felt, and a good standby cream colored felt. That’s why I’m a bit late on this week’s tag! I decided for the background I wanted to keep with the felt. There was something warming about the felt and I chose a background of a heather gray. I wanted some bling on the tag but not too much. I decided to put the gray felt on the tag in stripes and every other stripe was longer. I took the longer end, folded it back, and attached it like a button to a jacket or sweater with a brad. I chose a different brad and color for the center of the poinsettias. I finished it off with a gold Noël.
I hope you like my felt poinsettia. To me there is just something cozy about it! And, as the weather starts to turn we will need that sweater.

12-Nov-16 9:38 AMWow, the felt is incredible! I always love flowers cut from felt, but honestly never thought about using it as a background. How cool is that? What an original take on Tag #4 - a great inspiration to us all!
Hugs, Linda
