Linda's fifth tag was also a challenge. A challenge because my thinlit die was not working as well as the one she has! It was also a challenge because I developed this lovely background and then tried to figure out how to incorporate it into the challenge for this week. I struggled for a bit and almost had to toss the backgroudnd to the side. The background could be a tag by itself. I was inspired by Linda's tag to use one of the "scribble" trees in the thinlit die for a tag. Just a reminder, the 12 tags of Christmas challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and the challenge and the rules can be found on Linda's blog.
I used a standard #8 tag and used watering can colored archival ink to stamp the background with the latest "letter writing" stamp from Tim Holtz releaesd in his late 2015 release. I then "colored" a Penny Black stamp using Tim Holtz markers. I stamped the pinecone image on the background using the "huff on it" technique from the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry class. I then decided to add some gold foil for the edges. Next, I die cut the tree and the star from the new Tim Holtz thinlit die. I jjthen attempted to use the new distress glitter and glittered the star (intially it was a mess but I think I've got the hang of it now and I think I had glitter on me for days!). The "merry christmas" is from the Tim Holtz ephemera pack for this Christmas dulled down a bit with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink.
