This week was the sixth challenge given to us by Linda. The challenge for the 12 tags of Christmas is sponsored by Linda's online boutique the Funkie Junkie Boutique and the challenge can be found on Linda's blog.
I stared at this one for a long time trying to find out what it inspired of me. I finally settled on something about home. It seemed like Linda's tag was very homey and country kitchen themed. It inspired me to create the front door of my home during the Christmastime. I love to decorate at Christmas and I learned that from my grandfather and my mother. I continue to carry on the tradition and even have the neighbors drop by and ask to see each year's Christmas tree. So, in homage to both of them here is tag #6.
I used a standard #8 tag. I created an Aged Mahogany ink tinted texture paste and created the brick background using the Tim Holtz brick stencil. I created a door using the Tim Holtz die using a Gathered Twigs pen to create the outline and Tim Holtz inks to create the door. I dyed the Tim Holtz wreath and tree. I cut the tree in half and was happy to see that it worked! The sled was created from a die cut and used the Tim Holtz paper sanded slightly and "browned." The Tim Holtz thinlit die and this year's boxwood twine was used to dress the sled along with a pair of the Tim Holtz ice skates. I found some red twine, silver stamees, and red twine to top it off. Some snow was added to make it wintery. Quite suprised at myself with this one. I think my family would approve!
