Let the Words Do the Talking & Summer Garden

By chance, this week’s tag is being submitted for two challenge blogs.  That wasn’t the intent when I started out but that’s how it ended!

The Frilly & Funkie Challenge Blog challenged us to make a project using words or phrases that mean a lot to us and inspire us.  The challenge blog is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  The words I picked are love, art, and beauty.  I am lucky enough to have a very supportive, loving, and wonderful (and if I might say so, handsome) husband who makes me feel safe, loved, and beautiful.  And, he graciously puts up with my little crafting projects (aka “art”).

I know that it may sound cheesy but it’s true.  No complaints out of him when he’s trying to get dinner on the table and I’m rifling around in my craft room trying to find just the right embellishment.  Kind words when he gently reminds me that I need to wear my crafting apron when I’m playing with paints, mica powders, and ink.  No complaints when I drag him into a craft store.  Today he joked with me while I was making my tag that we were both painting today (me with my acrylic paints and he with paint for the deck).  I smiled at him and told him that my painting was a lot more fun!

While he was having a great time painting the deck, I was messing around in my craft room.  When I showed him the tag he commented that it looked quite a bit like our garden.  Having looked at it, I agree.  The bricked walls in our garden are the reddish tan color of the snowflake paste with the stencil on the background.  This year’s flower bed designs have various shades of purple, deep rusty colored reds and splashes of green and yellow/gold.  So I think the tag qualifies for the Monday Challenge Blog for Simon Says Stamp (sponsored by Simon Says Stamp) for a summer garden.  My summer garden was planted with love, a bit of artwork (the design notebook with sketches and flower counts), and is turning out beautifully!
