As I mentioned in my previous post, I spent most of Saturday testing out colors and background combinations for the Spritz and Spray Monday Challenge for Simon Says Stamp. Some of these backgrounds and color combinations were tested in my journal. One of them I really liked and I decided to see what I could do with it.
Art journaling is something that I've only been doing since I took a class in early fall with Marjie Kemper. I made some lovely pages in her class and then my journal sat there on the corner of my craft table. At Christmas I received a new square Dylusions Journal and I've been trying to test things in the journal space. Today, I took a step further and went past the background.
While my journal page may look simple compared to others, that's just me. Today's journaling helped me test out some of the new Tim Holtz Stamps too. I wasn't sure what to do with some of them when they arrived but today I spent some time with Lady Rose.
Again, more sprays of Dylusions Spray Inks! I hope the journal page inspires creativity.
The process and products used for the this tag follow the photo.
I used a page in my Dylusions square creative journal. I stamped the page with Tim Holtz's Ledger Script stamp #241 in Ranger's Plum Archival Ink. When that dried I sprayed Dylusions Franky Fuchsia and Crushed Grape Spray Inks on the page. I also grabbed Perfect Pearls Grape Fiz and sprayed it on the page and focused on the "white" areas so that there was some gradient of color. I then let the page air dry.
Once the page was dry, I used the Lady Rose stamp #255 from Tim Holtz. I stamped the roses in Wendy Vecchi's Violet Archival Ink and Lady Rose was stamped in Wendy Vecchi's Orange Blossom Archival Ink. I added the "Inspire Words" stamp from Unity Stamp and stamped the words in Wendy Vecchi's Red Geranium Archival Ink.
