Well, I've had a bit of a productive weekend! I had fun working on the Spritz and Spray Challenge on the Simon Says Monday Challenge Blog. As I have a three day weekend due to President's Day I had some extra time and ink on my hands this weekend! I made one last tag tonight -- the idea came to me when my beloved and I went for a walk around the neighborhood.
This time I used Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains instead of the Dylusions Spray Inks that I used on the other projects. Certainly the colors are more within in my comfort zone. Because it was dark by the time I finished this tag and it's "due" before tomorrow morning, the photo doesn't really do the tag justice. In real life it isn't as "pink" and the colors are far more muted. Either way, I had fun.
So, here is challenge entry #3 for Spraying and Spritzing for Simon Says Stamp!
The process for the tag and the products that I used follow the photo.
I started off with a #8 manila tag. I wanted a burlap type background so I found Tim Holtz's Mesh and Linen stamp #221. I used the Linen stamp and stamped the tag in Wendy Vecchi's Potting Soil Archival Ink. Next, I sprayed the tag with Tim Holtz's Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Spray Stains. I let them mix and mopped up the extra with a towel. Next I dried it. Once dry, I sprayed and spritzed water on the tag. I then dried it again. I edged the tag with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark using Tim Holtz Stamp #1 Nature's Moments. I embossed the image with Ranger's Bridal Tinsel Embossing Powder. Next, I took two magnolia flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and sprayed them with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender Distress Spray Stain. I let those dry. While those were drying, I put on the Bo Bunny flourish gems. Once the flowers were dry, I created the flower cluster using the leaves from Prima's Victorian Christmas line, a Wild Orchid Crafts Rose, Wild Orchid Crafts Cherry Blossom in pale purple, and the Wild Orchid Crafts Lavender stems. I finished off the tag with a Milled Lavender Distress Spray Stain colored ribbon.
