Well, I’m closing in on my first year of papercrafting! I’m at month 11 and this is my 11th Tim Holtz tag! More on my journey into the papercrafting world soon! Since I’m still rather new at all of these techniques, the remix is a great way for me to learn new things or work on the techniques I’ve learned in the past 11 months and try to make it better than the last time (or first time) I tried the technique. This month’s tag with Tim was a combination of both a redo technique and a new technique.
The two techniques in the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 for March are:
Thank goodness I saved a couple of boxes from the recycle bin because I seemed to go through multiple pieces of it until I got the right look and texture. I loved adding the foil bits to the tag as it helped create this “seen better days” look. And, this was the first time I have taken my Distress Crayons out of the package. The crayons are great fun and I’m going to have to experiment a bit more with them for other projects. The first time I used the Dimensional Die Cuts technique was less than stellar and I think this is a bit of an improvement. Here is my tag from August, 2015 if you want to compare. At the last minute I decided to add the butterflies to this month’s tag. I considered using an alcohol ink on them but decided to leave them as they came.
The items I used to make this tag are listed below the picture.
