Be My Valentine

Hello! I apologize for having been a bit absent over the past couple of weeks. Work and other projects have made by craft room seem a bit out of reach. However, today was a cruddy weather day and a day to play in my craft room but I had one of those days were I started a million projects and not finding the spark in any of them. So, I walked out and curled up with the kittens and watched a movie. And, then … I created this project.

The Frilly & Funkie challenge blog’s current challenge is Be My Valentine. The challenge is generously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique. There is a ton of new stuff arriving every day – I can’t wait for my boxes to arrive! Either way, I created my project for my beloved – it’s just about the size of the top of a box of truffles he’ll get tomorrow night when we head out for an early Valentine’s Day dinner.

I pulled out a couple of different things for this project including the prima paper clay and some of the IOD moulds. And, my acrylic paints to get in a little bit of practice with my dry brushing technique and made a bit of a mess on my craft sheet with the black gesso. I used the gesso as a background because I wanted a matte finish. Since I wanted the “Love you” to be the same colors I painted the black card stock with the paint.

I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day!
