Frilly & Funkie Christmas Tag #3 2015

Tag #3 was a bit of a challenge for me.  I'm not a huge "nordic sweater" fan so I was inspired by Linda's tag to find an alternate way to use pieces of the Tim Holtz thinlit die.  And, here's the hand warming version that was created!  This tag was created weeks ago before the weather turned bitter cold and "pre-blog."  The challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and the challenge can be found on Linda's blog.

Frilly & Funkie Christmas Tag #3 2015

I started with a piece of felt and die cut the mitten.  I sewed the two pieces together using gold metallic DMC thread.  I used the nordic thinlit die and used pieces of the die with felt to create the mitten cuff and the reindeer.   I used the Tim Holtz thinlit die cut word "joy" out of red felt.  The base of the tag (which is a size #8 tag) uses Graphic 45 paper and Tim Holtz textured paper.  On the textured paper I used Tim Holtz white picket fence paint and sprinkled Distress Glitter to create a frosted look.  The snowflakes are flat buttons that I glued on to the tag and mitten.
