Let the Words Do the Talking & Summer Garden

By chance, this week’s tag is being submitted for two challenge blogs.  That wasn’t the intent when I started out but that’s how it ended! […]

Oh, the places you will go!

The challenge for the Frilly & Funkie challenge blog was a look at “Oh, the Places You Will Go.”  The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  After some fits and starts on this tag, I wound up doing the flip side of it.   I was rather tired after having run a half marathon and then driving home so it was ironic that I landed on the theme of “going home.”  While we go on vacation, journeys, and adventures we always want to come home.  When I  go on vacation we have many little adventures and, usually, the journey is rather far from home there is truly nothing like coming home.  It’s nice to have a bit of normalcy and familiarity not to mention curling up in your own bed!  I also thought of all of those who travel for work and look forward to coming home to family.  My beloved does a lot of traveling and he is always happy to come home.  So, we go to many places but we always go to our favorite place -- home. Boy oh boy!

Here is another entry for the Frilly and Funkie Challenge – Boy oh boy!  The challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  At first I had no idea what I was going to do.  I thought about it all week and decided to just let it go.  Some days the canvas just goes blank.  Lucky for me some of my birthday stuff arrived early and my beloved just let me play around with my new goodies in my craft room this weekend.  Yesterday I went through all of my new inks.  Today, I woke up and just started to futz around with the mica powders to see what I could do with them.  Here is tag #2 for Boy oh boy. Hip to Be Square for the Frilly & Funkie Challenge

Hip to Be Square – 60’s version.  Although I think the song “Hip to be Square” is a little more my era!   The latest challenge on The Frilly & Funkie Blog (which is generously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique) calls for squares to appear on the project and to use bright colors, textures, looks, or other things from the 60’s or early 70’s.  Having looked at some old photos from the family album I had a little bit of an idea of what I needed to go for in this challenge.  The 60’s seem to have lots of large collars, funky patterns, flowers, earthy stuff, and colors. Daffodils and Shamrocks for a Challenge!

Spring is springing early here in our neck of the woods.  It’s very rare that the end of February brings us the first crocus peeping up out of the ground.  We saw that last weekend when we were out for a walk.  And, this week our neighbor’s daffodils were blooming.  Daffodils are one of my favorite springtime flowers and in March and April they are everywhere in England.  So this week’s tag focused on green as there is the arrival of Spring and on March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. Frilly & Funkie -- Enjoy Your Embossing #1 -- February, 2016

Snowy day.  Cruddy weather.  Me and the snow shovel.  I love winter but I hate shoveling snow.  I'm rearranging my craft room and I think to myself since I'm at home let's experiment with some alcohol inks.  I knew that the Frilly and Funkie blog challenge was about enjoying embossing but until i had a snow day I wasn't sure I could.  This challenge is graciously supported by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
