Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 – Tech Remix (November)

Hello! As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend our house smells of apple pie! I’ve been baking and making pastry for the last couple of days. I have a couple more pies to make for family friends and one for my beloved and then I turn the kitchen over to him so he can start making the savory dishes. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.

In between lugging my boxes of Christmas ornaments and storage containers with garland from the basement to their temporary placement in our living room, I worked on this month’s tag for Tim Holtz’s 12 Tags of 2016. This month’s remix combined dimensional coloring and remnant rub techniques. Two techniques that are unnecessarily a struggle for me. I must be the worst remnant rub crafter ever! I went through several sheets of remnant rubs before I was able to get the background to look decent. And, I know that I’m a type A personality but I’m truly thinking I have some remnant rub sheets that are defective!!??! Anyway, I plugged away and came up with this month’s tag. With some creative masking and coloring I was able to hide the blueprint parts of the stamp. I also tried many, many different colors for my background and kept coming back to a series of browns. I do, however, have a whole group of tags for other projects! I also decided to spritz some perfect pearls mist – I didn’t want a fine mist but the droplets look.

I hope all of you have a lovely, safe, and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!

So pretty. This is one of the stamps that made it to the short list for my Nov. tag. Love what you've done with yours, especially the little jingle bells. I had a laugh at your problems with the rubs. My gold ones stuck to the packaging--grrr! Looks great!

I love your tag - your poinsettia is gorgeous! Love how you used your jingle bells, too :-) I doubt you're the worst remnant rub crafter ever since I have a lot of trouble with them, too, and I doubt we're the only ones. Great job!!
