Happy Spring! While we are desperately in need of moisture, a gentle rain would be preferred! Instead we get these tremendous grey, grumpy clouds that arrive with a ton of water (and sometimes a dash of snow or hail). Springtime in the Rockies – you never know what you’re going to get! […]
READ MOREHappy April to everyone! It looks a bit more like January here but tomorrow the sunshine will be back and the snow will melt! While the moisture is good, we definitely had a lot of broken tree branches. It always makes me sad because it takes so long for trees to grow here. <sigh> […]
READ MOREAlthough we have turned the corner to spring, we’ve seem to still be getting little reminders of winter. We’ve had some fairly significant wind, a really quick but nasty snow storm, and another one moving in tomorrow. Despite having cleaned up the gardens in 70 degree weather two weekends ago, I now have to wait for the snow to melt so I can do some damage control on my poor lilac bushes that did not hold up well in the 40+ mile an hour winds and weighed down by the heavy, wet snow. […]
READ MOREWhat a beautiful weekend we had here in our neck of the woods -- it was lovely and warm (bordering on hot) which allowed for some spring gardening! It’s a bit too warm for our norm for this time of year but the lawn mower, gardening shears, shovel, and rake were all put to good use this weekend. All of the work in the garden inspired me to create this project for the Frilly & Funkie Challenge – You've Got to Know When to Fold ‘em. The challenge is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique. […]
READ MOREHello! Sorry it’s been a little bit since my last project but sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done. I was able to spend a little bit of time in my craft room tonight while my beloved was making dinner. I was able to skip out of work right at 5 p.m. to head home for a run – I absolutely love that we have a bit of extra daylight in the evenings. It truly is a sign that spring is on its way! Not to mention the crocus’ have bloomed and the daffodils are starting to make their appearances. It all seems a little early this year. […]
READ MOREHello! I apologize for having been a bit absent over the past couple of weeks. Work and other projects have made by craft room seem a bit out of reach. However, today was a cruddy weather day and a day to play in my craft room but I had one of those days were I started a million projects and not finding the spark in any of them. So, I walked out and curled up with the kittens and watched a movie. And, then … I created this project. […]
READ MOREHello! Winter, oh winter, where art thou? While the mountains have been getting a rather good bit of snow (great for the skiers) not much here in the foothills. The current challenge on the Frilly & Funkie blog asks us to create a project using Winter Hues – specifically use grey, white, blue, silver in our project. The challenge in generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique. […]
READ MOREThe first challenge project of the year is a bit of inspiration in a square and fits two challenges – New Year’s Inspiration for the Frilly & Funkie Challenge which is generously sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and Be Square for the Monday Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. […]
READ MOREHappy New Year! It’s time for a new year and I’ve decided to try to do an art challenge in place of the Tim Holtz 12 tags challenge. It was unfortunate news yesterday when we got word that Tim Holtz will be changing gears and seeking new ways to challenge, inspire, and teach us new techniques. While I’m excited to see what’s in store from him, I was bummed to see the 12 Tags Challenge be retired. So I’ve placed a challenge on myself (maybe some of you will join me in that challenge….) that I will do a monthly layout that would fit in my scrapbooks. […]
